Wolffe, previously identified as CC-3636, served as an experienced Clone Commander in the Grand Army of the Republic alongside Jedi General Plo Koon during the Clone Wars. As the leader of the renowned Wolfpack squad within the 104th Battalion, Commander Wolffe displayed relentless dedication in combating the Confederacy of Independent Systems and demonstrated a notable aptitude for strategic thinking. During his initial mission with Koon aboard the Jedi Master's flagship, the Triumphant, Wolffe played a crucial role in the task force led by Koon to eliminate the Separatist warship Malevolence in the Abregado system.
In the face of adversity, the entire Wolfpack troopers on board the ship, with the exception of Koon, Wolffe, Clone Sergeant "Sinker," and trooper CT-4860 "Boost," were eliminated while confronting the Malevolence. Fortunately, the four survivors were rescued by Jedi General Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan, Ahsoka Tano. In tribute to the fallen comrades, Wolffe led his unit in adopting new clone trooper armor. Despite the loss suffered by the Wolfpack, Wolffe remained undeterred in his commitment to service and succeeded in fostering loyalty among his men.
In the Battle of Khorm, Wolffe suffered the loss of his right eye during a confrontation with the Sith apprentice Asajj Ventress. As a result, he opted for a cybernetic eye replacement and bore enduring facial scars. Undeterred, Wolffe continued his dedicated military service to the Republic, engaging in pivotal missions alongside Koon.
His involvement extended to collaborative efforts with Skywalker and Tano during a battle on Felucia, participating in the rescue of Skywalker and Jedi Master Mace Windu on Vanqor, and aiding a Republic strike team in escaping with liberated prisoners from Lola Sayu. Wolffe personally led a supply mission to the planet Aleen, which had been devastated by groundquakes. He played a crucial role in the liberation of Togruta slaves from the Zygerrian Slave Empire on Kadavo and contributed to a mission focused on recovering the lightsaber of the late Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas.
Fifteen years after the conclusion of the Clone Wars, Wolffe was still alive and residing in a modified AT-TE on Seelos, alongside Captain Rex and Clone commando Gregor. During this period, the group encountered the Spectres, a Rebel faction actively opposing the Galactic Empire. Initially harboring distrust, Wolffe, especially in light of the presence of Kanan Jarrus, a survivor of the Great Jedi Purge, transmitted a message alerting the Empire, viewing the rebels as potential threats. The Imperial Agent Kallus intercepted the transmission.
However, Wolffe reconsidered his stance when Rex vouched for the rebels, assuring him of their non-hostile intentions. Acting under Rex's leadership, Wolffe and Gregor successfully impeded Kallus's AT-AT walkers, allowing the rebels to escape. After the conflict, Wolffe and Gregor chose to remain on Seelos while Rex decided to join the growing rebellion.
In 0 BBY, Wolffe and Gregor later joined rebel forces on Lothal, actively participating in the liberation of the planet from Imperial control.
